The Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) regulates public spaces – schools, airports, hospitals and so forth – and sets minimum standards for safety. It’s intended to make it possible for disabled people to use public facilities safely and as easily as possible.

While it doesn’t apply to private homes, a lot of the ADA standards can also make our homes safer for everybody, not just disabled people. Anyone can slip on a loose rug or tumble down a poorly lit stairway, so it’s worth taking the time to do a safety audit just to be sure your home is safe for everybody.

This course will give you a quick overview of things you can do to make your home safer.
